“Hoodies and Hair” Donation Celebration Held To Benefit the Center For Youth
ROCHESTER NY, September 29, 2014 — Capstone Information Technologies, Inc. a local provider of computer support services, along with six other local companies, is donating a large collection of clothing and other needed items to Rochester’s local non-profit, The Center For Youth. The staff at Capstone will present their collected items to Elaine Spaull, Executive Director of The Center For Youth on Thursday, October 2nd, 2-3 pm, at Capstone Headquarters, located in the Corn Hill District.
Capstone involved their staff of 20 employees as well as their business clients in this drive dubbed the “Hoodies and Hair” campaign. Six other local businesses chose to participate and together raised over 200 items, including hoodies, shampoo and conditioner, as well as monetary donations. This campaign was inspired by the upcoming fundraising event, Fashion Week of Rochester, that the Center For Youth holds annually to support the young men and women of Rochester.
“It’s important that we give back to the community that we serve. The enthusiasm I have seen with our employees and clients in being part of the Hoodies and Hair fundraiser is very uplifting. Our employees are having fun and competing to outdo each other in this effort.” says Sitima Fowler, Co-CEO of Capstone. “We are proud of their dedicated efforts to raise these donations, and equally as proud of our loyal clients who participated as well.”
Elaine Spaull, Executive Director for The Center For Youth, praises the support received. “Once again, The Center for Youth is benefitting from our generous partnership with Capstone, our IT provider, as they reach out to the community to gather hoodies and hair products for our homeless youth. We love the creativity and energy that Capstone showed when planning this project, as it aligns with Fashion Week, helps our youth, and solidifies an already wonderful partnership.”
We celebrated a very successful 2013 at Mario’s Italian Restaurant, as Capstone continues its annual Christmas party tradition. We filled their ballroom from wall to wall! Next year, we’ll need a bigger room!
Capstone Donates Dinners To “Treat” The Needy
Capstone is donating 25 dinners from Sticky Lips Pit BBQ on October 25, 2013 to “treat” the less fortunate in the community. The Fairport High School softball teams are holding a fundraiser by selling dinner tickets for Sticky Lips Pit BBQ, and Capstone has purchased 25 dinner tickets for donation.
“It’s not often these struggling families get a dinner out. We thought it would be a win – win for everyone by supporting the Fairport softball teams and also by providing a night out “treat” for the less fortunate families,” says Sitima Fowler, Co-CEO of Capstone. “We don’t think much about going out to dinner but there are many families in Fairport that are struggling and cannot afford to eat out.”
On October 25, Sticky Lips Barbeque and the Fairport softball teams will be serving dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Walgreens in Perinton (corner of 250 and 31). The dinner tickets will buy a great meal consisting of a quarter-chicken, pork, cornbread and two sides of your choice.
Capstone employees will work with the Church of Assumption in Fairport to distribute the dinner tickets to the needy families and also in coordinating rides for those families to the fundraiser site.
Your company is welcome to join Capstone in donating additional meals! For more information about this donation or fundraiser, please email Sitima Fowler at mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 585-546-4120.
